			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well July 2011 is here and those of you that have been working with me regularly over the last few months will be aware that I am taking the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong ambition and take part in the Clipper 2011/12 Round the World Yacht Race.  The race starts in Southampton at the end of July 2011 and includes legs to Rio, Cape Town, Western Australia, New Zealand, Eastern Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Qiungdao, San Fransisco, Panama, New York, Ireland, The Netherlands and back to Southampton.  The race takes place on &#8216;one-design&#8217; 68 foot ocean going racing yachts, specially designed for the rigours of southern ocean downwind sailing.</p>
<p>I&#8217;d like to take this opportunity to thank all clients, colleagues and friends for their support and wish them all a prosperous and happy 12 months whilst I&#8217;m away.  The plan is to return to my desk in August 2012, probably rather slimmer, battered and with a smile on my face! <p>&#8220;The site enjoys tremendous visibility and a high flow of passing traffic, so I&#8217;m not surprised we had several people interested in the location&#8221; said Mark Burkes, Director.  &#8220;This latest deal completes the letting of the site on behalf of our clients, Burson Land, and has now established their target return on capital invested. Our next task is to work up a planning application in conjunction with the local planning authority for a landmark residential / mixed-use scheme on the site in accordance with our client&#8217;s medium term plans.&#8221;</p>
<p>The site formerly accommodated a church, car sales pitch and public house.  Burkes &amp; Co advised on the site&#8217;s assembly, the management of the planning application for its current use and the letting of the space.</p>

<p>The register will enable land owners to register their sites FREE of CHARGE.  Burkes &amp; Co have established the register so that land owners and selected property developers can be introduced to their mutual benefit. Land owners pay nothing for the service which is discreet and anonymous. Developers pay a membership fee to join and agree to pay Burkes &amp; Co a site finder&#8217;s fee if they subsequently agree terms to purchase land held on the register.</p>
